May 2 – Law Day Banquet

The Augusta Bar Association’s Law Day Committee welcomes you to this year’s Law Day Celebration. In honor of the 2019 Law Day Theme “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society,” we have the following upcoming activities:

The Law Day Banquet will be held on May 2, 2019, at the West Lake Country Club. A cocktail hour will be held from 6:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. Professor Eric J. Segall of the Georgia State University College of Law, an esteemed authority on Constitutional Law, will be the Keynote speaker.

You may also RSVP by sending an email to katrell@nashlawofficellc.com. Admission to the banquet is $75 per person. Guests are welcome. Payment may be mailed to Laura S. Jordan at 507 Courthouse Lane, Augusta, GA 30901. The RSVP and payment deadline is April 26, 2019.

In addition to the Law Day Banquet, we welcome you to join us at the following events:

  • April 30, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. in the Augusta University Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom: Law Day Panel Discussion with panelists: Attorney Geoffrey Alls, Attorney David E. Hudson, Captain John Kraft, Attorney Titus Nichols, Dean Alexander Schwarzmann, Dr. Tanya Washington, and moderator Laverne Gaskins. This event is approved by the State Bar for one professionalism hour. This event is in partnership with the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Augusta University Pre-Law Club.   • May 1, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. on the front steps of the John H. Ruffin Jr. Courthouse: Attorney Oath Renewal with the Honorable Monique Walker, Richmond County State Court, to deliver the invocation and the Honorable Carl C. Brown, Chief Judge of the Augusta Circuit Superior Courts to administer the attorney oath.
