As many of you are aware, Judge Carl Brown, Chief Judge of the Augusta Judicial Circuit, is spearheading a push to allocate additional resources for the improved administration of justice in Richmond County. We recognize that the burdens placed on our justice system, circuit and statewide, continue to grow. The Courthouse Annex Order and letter of support are attached for review. The Augusta Bar Association will host the annual Bernard J. Mulherin Golf Tournament at The River Club on Thursday, September 24th. This will be a day to remember; featuring a Golf Tournament and delicious BBQ. All proceeds from the Golf Tournament and the Charity Gala and Silent Auction will go to benefit the ReStart Augusta.
As you may know, ReStart Augusta is a local 501(c)(3) organization which works to provide beds to children, families, and veterans in the Augusta area who cannot afford them. “Giving people a bed to sleep on” describes their mission. All funds received by ReStart go to purchase supplies to build beds. The labor required to make these beds is completely volunteer. Our goal is to raise funds help ReStart continue to provide beds for those who need them in the Augusta area. We would be grateful if you could support our golf tournament to help this remarkable charity. You will find the registration form below.

Unfortunately, the Augusta Bar Association will not host its Annual CLE in December. However, The Supreme Court of Georgia has extended the waiver of the 6-hour in-person CLE requirement through March 31, 2021. You may find the Order detailing the extension below.

Hello All: Pursuant to a Judges meeting on July 27, 2020 and a circuit-wide Court Security meeting of August 4, 2020, the attached protocol has been updated indicating that masks will be required in the Courthouses and Courtrooms of the Augusta Judicial Circuit.
