Update on Golf and Gala
The Executive Committee met on August 24th and decided to postpone the Raising the Bar Gala scheduled for Friday, September 10. We will hold the Mulherin Plaid Golf Tournament as scheduled on Thursday, September 9 at The River. More information on the golf tournament is below. Please sign up to play or sponsor a hole if you have not already. We hope to re-schedule the Gala for a date later in the year. Please continue to monitor your email for updates.

Mulherin Plaid Memorial Golf Tournament
The Augusta Bar Association Mulherin Plaid Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on September 9, 2021 at the River Golf Club. The Bar Association will be partnering with the Augusta Bar Foundation, and all proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the charitable organizations selected by the Augusta Bar Foundation.
Signups are available for tournament teams and hole sponsors, limited spots are still available. The signup sheet can be found here.
If you are not looking to play, the Bar Association can always use volunteers for tournament day. Please contact mwp@klosinski.com with any questions about the Tournament, sponsorships, or for volunteer inquiries.

Augusta District Attorney’s Office-Director of Victim Services

Opening in the Richmond County Solicitor General’s Office
The Richmond County Solicitor-General’s Office has an opening for an Assistant Solicitor-General.
An Assistant Solicitor-General (ASG) prosecutes misdemeanor violations in the State Court of Richmond County. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the investigation and preparation of cases for trial, representing the State in all stages of court proceedings, and performing additional tasks relating to the function of the department as assigned by the Solicitor-General. ASG should demonstrate considerable knowledge of state laws, court proceedings, and rules of evidence, as well as the policies and procedures of the Solicitor-General’s Office. ASG must show an ability to communicate and work with the public, judges, and court personnel. ASG must have adequate oral and written communication skills. Work is performed in an office and in a courtroom, sometimes for long periods. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light objects are necessary functions of the position.
Minimum Qualifications: A Juris Doctorate is required. An ASG must be a member in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
Preferred Qualifications: Prosecution experience is preferred, but not required.
Candidate should be able to pass a criminal background check.
